Description

$25,000 Sign-On Bonus

All nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, Children's National Policies and Procedures, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. The professional Model of Care requires registered professional nurses to be responsible and accountable for their own practice. Children's National supports the development of RN relationships with the community, specifically those associated with the health and well-being of the community at large. An RN is an independent practitioner who functions as a resource to staff in a patient care area, providing comprehensive patient care to a variety of patients. The RN will incorporate all members of the healthcare team in planning and delivering patient care, handle complex clinical problems, conduct quick assessments, and manage emergency situations appropriately. The RN will demonstrate evidence-based practice through participation in unit projects and activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
BSN from an approved school of nursing (preferred)

Minimum Work Experience

At least one year of ICU, Radiology, or ED experience (adult or pediatric)

Required Skills/Knowledge

The licensed RN must successfully complete hospital and nursing orientation at Children’s National, have strong airway management skills, knowledge of anesthetic agents, organizational skills, critical thinking, and collaborative attitude with peers, physicians, and other departments. Care will be based on benchmarks and evidence from literature.

Post-Anesthesia Clinical Care Activities
  • Evaluate and manage patient's airway postoperatively, perform manual IPPV, monitor cardiopulmonary function, provide prompt care for emergence delirium, evaluate and treat postoperative pain, manage epidural and nerve blocks, and monitor related complications.

Position Status: Regular, Full-Time, Day Shift (0800-2030)

Salary Range: $75,108.80 - $133,099.20
