Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, provides direct patient care according to Winchester Hospital policies and Massachusetts RN scope of practice. Responsibilities include assessments, treatments, medication administration, patient observation, documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

2. Comply with hospital policies and the Code of Business Conduct, maintain current licenses and certifications, and prioritize safety.
3. Utilize the nursing process: assess patients, develop and implement care plans, evaluate outcomes, and adjust as needed.
4. Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
5. Educate patients and families to promote understanding and compliance.
6. Conduct rounds and report pertinent patient data to the healthcare team.
7. Document care accurately and thoroughly.
8. Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and team communications.
9. Complete required competencies and participate in ongoing training, staff meetings, and quality initiatives.
10. Assist in orientation and mentoring of new staff and students.
11. Participate in community activities as encouraged.

Qualifications and Skills

• Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN or obtaining BSN within 5 years preferred.
• Work experience in a relevant specialty preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills required.

Licenses and Certifications

• Massachusetts RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications depend on department, e.g., PALS, NRP, ACLS.
