Must-Have:

  • Experience working in both Pre-OP and PACU is mandatory.
Description:

This position requires a Registered Nurse to work in the PACU.The shift will be 4x10 hours with variable start times from 05:30 to 07:30.Start dates are available on specific dates.First-time travelers are accepted for this role.Call requirements will involve 3-4 shifts per 6-week schedule.The nurse will be required to float between Pre-OP and PACU as needed.Weekend shifts are not required.Patient age groups include pediatrics, infants, adolescents, and adults.The daily census typically involves high patient volumes.The nurse should manage up to 18 pre-op and 18 post-op patients.Preferred experience includes working with trachs and performing phlebotomy.Advanced skills in managing various types of pediatric patients will be essential.The role emphasizes the need for experience with special needs children, including those on trachs, vents, and G-tubes.The unit will not routinely take intubated patients.A high volume of patients is expected, especially during peak times.
