Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Nebraska.
• Two (2) years nursing experience preferred.
• One (1) year of experience in an outpatient surgical setting preferred.
• Current ACLS and BLS certification. PALS certified within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and supervises patient care in the OPS unit.
• Gives care to the patient, reflecting flexibility in rules and regulations, as indicated by individual patient needs.
• Performs head-to-toe preoperative assessment on all patients and reassesses postoperatively.
• Manages pain assessment and education for patient and family.
• Maintains current documentation and communicates with physicians, anesthesia providers and other departments.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring and ability to identify dysrhythmias.
• Ensures environment promotes patient safety and reduces health care errors.
