Lincoln Surgical Hospital in Lincoln, NE is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Outpatient Services team. You will provide high-quality pre-operative and post-operative care, perform initial assessments, educate patients and families, and help monitor and respond to changes in patient condition.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program, an active Nebraska RN license, BLS on hire, and ACLS/PALS within 90 days.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Nebraska RN license or compact state with Nebraska as primary state within 30 days.
  • Current BLS certification on hire.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications within 90 days of employment.
  • Post-surgical, progressive care, or critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Admit patients to pre-operative area and perform comprehensive nursing assessments.
  • Conduct pre-operative and post-operative evaluations and educate patients and families.
  • Receive patients from surgery and provide post-anesthesia and recovery care.
  • Monitor patient status and intervene as needed; document outcomes and progress toward goals.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team for safe, efficient care.

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Outpatient Services team and help provide extraordinary care.Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to immediate pre-operative and post-operative patients. Through continuous assessment and patient monitoring, this role supports the early recognition and intervention of potential medical or surgical complications, ensuring patient safety and optimal recovery.SchedulePRN (As Needed)Monday through FridayHours between 4:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.Variable shift lengths and start timesMinimum commitment of six shifts within a rolling three-month periodEssential ResponsibilitiesAdmit patients to the pre-operative area and complete comprehensive nursing assessments and documentation.Perform pre-operative and post-operative patient evaluations and provide patient and family education.Receive patients from surgery, assess their condition, and deliver appropriate post-anesthesia and recovery care.Monitor patient status, identify changes in condition, and intervene as necessary.Document assessments, care provided, patient outcomes, and progress toward established nursing goals.Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-focused care.a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb;}tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6;}tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5;}Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nebraska, or licensure in a compact state with Nebraska established as the primary state of residence within 30 days of employment and a Nebraska temporary permit or nursing license obtained as required.Current BLS certification required upon hire.ACLS and PALS certifications required within 90 days of employment.Previous post-surgical nursing experience preferred.Progressive care and/or critical care experience preferred.Why Lincoln Surgical Hospital?Join a team that is dedicated to clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and a culture of collaboration.
