About the Role:
Logan Health is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Registered Float Nurse (RN) to join our team as an Outpatient Specialty Imaging Services Float. In this vital role, you will provide nursing support across multiple Imaging departments, assisting our Imaging Techs and supporting patient care throughout the outpatient setting.
Key functions include:
- IV starts
- Urinary catheter placement
- Sedation assistance
- Patient instructions and education
- Responding to patient questions
- Monitoring contrast reactions
- Other nursing duties as assigned within Imaging Services
As a Float RN, you will deliver professional nursing care, perform patient assessments, coordinate with the care team, and help maintain a safe, compassionate environment for all patients.
What You’ll Do:
- Float between Imaging departments to provide clinical nursing support as needed
- Assess patients and develop individualized plans of care, updating as appropriate throughout visits
- Administer medications and treatments per provider order
- Provide ongoing patient education regarding medications and treatments
- Monitor patients for safety and comfort, especially during imaging procedures
- Address patient questions and concerns, ensuring clear instructions are provided
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, Imaging Techs, and other care team members to ensure continuity of care
- Participate in staff education and competency validation
- Maintain professionalism and adhere to department standards and competencies
- Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance as scheduled
What You Need:
Basic Qualifications:
- Current Montana RN License (or compact license with MT practice authorization) – required.
- CPR certification (HCP level) – required.
- ACLS and PALS certification – may be required in certain departments and must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Tech-savvy with comfort using Microsoft Office and EMR platforms.
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and a proactive, team-first attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN – preferred.
- 2+ years of RN experience – preferred.

Qualifications Summary:
- Current Montana RN License or multi-state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana; required.
- BSN degree preferred.
- Current HCP CPR certification required.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ nursing experience preferred.
- ACLs and PALS certification may be required in certain departments and successfully obtained within six (6) months of hire.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, self-starter, critical thinking, able to set priorities and work as part of a team or independently.
- Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with various audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact and professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn other software as needed.
Job Specific Duties:
- Performs patient assessment and develops an individualized plan of care, updating as appropriate.
- Identifies safety issues concerning the patient and staff during visits.
- Reviews medication lists and provides ongoing education as directed by physician or APP.
- Coordinates with healthcare team to provide continuity of care.
- Participates in education and competency validation of clinical staff.
- Implements department standards of care and individualizes care as needed.
- Administers medications per provider order.
- Maintains professionalism while completing department competencies.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
PRN positions offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations. Some roles may qualify for a 401(k) plan and other benefits.
