GENERAL OVERVIEW:
The Registered Nurse assesses human responses and plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families for whom the nurse is responsible. The RN is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered. Nursing care is delivered in an outpatient setting.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assigns or delegates tasks based on patient needs and staff skill levels, including duties and lunches during charge roles.

- Supervises and evaluates delegated LPN scope of practice as appropriate.
- Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement patient care tailored to individual needs, involving patients and families.
- Derives culturally and age-appropriate expected outcomes with input from patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Analyzes health status data to determine patient care needs.
- Assesses changes in patient condition, notifies physicians or supervisors, intervenes appropriately, and documents actions.
- Accepts assignments beyond primary units within individual competencies.
- Commits to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
- Participates in professional organizations and seeks current research to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Engages in peer review and solicits feedback to identify strengths and areas for growth.
- Adheres to time and attendance policies.
- Centers patient and family satisfaction in care, advocating for their needs.
- Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and promotes compassionate, patient-family-centered communication.
- Addresses and resolves patient/family concerns.
- Manages time effectively to complete duties within shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Current PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC
- CPR certification
