Job description

Schedule:
40 hours/week
Monday-Friday 10-6:30pm; No Weekends, No on-call, No Holidays

The registered nurse (RN, RN II, RN III) performs professional nursing activities in the care of patients to help them achieve or regain, and then maintain, maximum physical, emotional, or social functions. Role functions are governed by the Nurse Practice Act, the Administrative Code (in the state of employment), professional standards, and Rogers Memorial Hospital policies. The RN consults with other health team members as needed and collaborates with the Patient Accounts department to ensure compliance with federal and state statutes.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Complete initial assessments and document as required.
  2. Collect, record, and analyze pertinent data for admission assessment, including patient strengths, limitations, cultural factors, discharge needs, medical status, medication history, and age-specific data.
  3. Involve patient's support systems in assessment and documentation, observing and documenting interactions and obtaining relevant information.
  4. Act as an advocate for patients by explaining rights, obtaining signatures, providing information, and safeguarding privacy and confidentiality.
  5. Initiate and update treatment plans, participate in care planning and conferences, and develop clear, measurable treatment goals.
  6. Identify, interpret, and document information from nursing interviews, observations, assessments, and diagnostics, consulting with healthcare professionals as appropriate.
  7. Implement patient care, demonstrating safe medication administration, monitoring responses, and educating patients about medications.
  8. Identify potential problems or changes in patient condition, exercise leadership to intervene, and prevent adverse outcomes.
  9. Address health education needs before discharge with age-appropriate teaching and documentation.
  10. Organize and deliver patient care based on established plans, policies, and standards, ensuring safety and infection control.
  11. Participate in continuing education, in-service programs, and performance improvement initiatives.
  12. Assist in developing unit standards of care, safety protocols, and participate in committees and projects.
  13. Carry out leadership functions, including assuming charge nurse responsibilities, coordinating activities, and supervising staff.
  14. Engage in professional development, set goals, and contribute to department and hospital mission and goals.
  15. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and participate in hospital committees and performance improvement teams.
  16. Conduct oneself professionally, demonstrating organizational skills, positive attitude, and adherence to policies.
  17. Meet educational and training requirements, including licensure, CPR, and specialized training in psychiatric care.

Pay Transparency: Compensation ranges from $29.76 - $47.78, based on experience and education.

The system includes the Rogers Behavioral Health Foundation and initiatives to eliminate mental health stigma.
