Job Overview
The Registered Nurse assesses human responses and plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families. The RN is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable for the quality of care delivered in an outpatient setting.
Essential Responsibilities

- Contribute to team building through role modeling and mentoring.
- Assign or delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill levels, including duties and lunches when performing charge role.
- Maintain a safe environment, considering patient condition, intervention complexity, and expected outcomes.
- Provide verbal and written feedback to peers regarding clinical practice and role performance.
- Share knowledge and skills, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Accept mistakes and promote a culture of safety, creativity, flexibility, resiliency, and adaptability.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care or health services.
- Support patient safety initiatives and participate in quality improvement projects.
- Supervise and evaluate LPNs and other support staff as appropriate.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement patient care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Develop culturally and age-appropriate expected outcomes involving patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Assess health status, analyze data, and determine care needs.
- Monitor patient condition changes, notify physicians, intervene, and document appropriately.
- Perform duties within your competency, including assignments outside your primary unit.
- Engage in continuous professional development and participate in professional organizations.
- Seek ongoing learning using current research and evidence-based practices.
- Participate in peer reviews and seek feedback to identify strengths and areas for growth.
- Adhere to hospital policies on time and attendance.
- Prioritize patient-centered care, continuously evaluating satisfaction and acting as an advocate.
- Promote compassionate, family-centered communication and address concerns effectively.
- Manage time efficiently to complete duties within the shift.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Clearance
- Current PA RN license or multi-state license via eNLC
- CPR certification
