Scheduled between 11am Friday and 7am Monday, per policy
Orientation may require full-time work for a concentrated period of time

THE UNIT:

The AGH Ortho Unit is a 44-bed unit, specializing in:

  • Ortho/Trauma
  • Joint replacement
  • Spinal and cervical fusions
  • Higher acuity neuro necks and backs
Allegheny General Hospital:
  • Level I Shock Trauma Center
  • Five state-of-the-art ICUs
  • State-of-the-art Cancer Center
  • 550+ beds

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Responsible for a designated patient population, providing care based on the nursing process. Demonstrates assessment and care planning skills, ensuring safe, effective care in compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team from admission to discharge. Assesses learning needs and provides education tailored to age, culture, and willingness to learn.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum requirements include:

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association
  • Current PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC
  • One year of general nursing experience; experience on the specific unit preferred
