Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health Medical Center in Temple, TX is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse for the Ortho Trauma Progressive Care Unit (5N/5 South). Night shift 7pm-7am, 36 hours per week, on-site in Temple, Texas.

Unit serves a diverse adult and geriatric population with trauma, complex surgeries, joint replacements, and multisystem injuries. Competitive benefits and relocation assistance available for full-time candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Program.
• RN license is required.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for adult and geriatric patients.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
• Participate in Rapid Recovery and trauma-related care pathways.

Baylor Scott & White Health Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse to join our Ortho Trauma Progressive Care Unit (5 South). Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

Schedule

Full Time - 36 hours per week - Night shift 7pm-7am

Location

Temple, TX – 5th Floor (5N)

Unit Summary

This is a 35-bed monitored nursing unit that provides the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients ranging from adults to Geriatrics. The conditions that are within the scope of service include the following but are not limited to:

• Post ICU trauma patients (serious traumatic injury to 2 or more body systems)
• Complex Plastic reconstructive surgeries (including reconstructive flaps and graft sites, post cancer reconstruction, and trauma related reconstruction)
• Complex ENT patients including free muscle flaps and neck dissections.
• Complex ENT reconstructive tracheostomies and laryngectomies
• Traumatic Complex Fractures and musculoskeletal wounds
• Elective Joint Replacements – Rapid Recovery Program
• Sports Injuries
• Spinal Deformities
• Complicated Pelvic, Hip, and compression Fractures
• Skeletal Malformations and Abnormalities
• Amputations and Prosthesis
• Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery
• Medical/Surgical patients including those requiring Telemetry
