Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX seeks a Full-Time Charge Registered Nurse for the Trauma Progressive Care Unit (5 North). This 38-bed telemetry unit cares for adults and geriatrics after trauma with high-acuity cases.

Responsibilities include providing direct patient care from 7am-7pm, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting patient outcomes through evidence-based nursing practice.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an approved nursing program.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Current RN license.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 38-bed Telemetry Monitored unit (5 North).
• Care for post-ICU trauma patients with high-acuity.
• Collaborate with care teams to improve patient outcomes.

Job description

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Charge Registered Nurse to join our Trauma Progressive Care Unit. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

Full Time – 36 hours per week - 7am-7pm

Unit Summary

This is a 38-bed Telemetry Monitored Nursing Unit. Working on 5 North gives you the unique opportunity to work with both Adults and Geriatrics. Working on 5 North, you can expect your clinical skills to become greater than ever imagined due to the high acuity of patients and verities of scope which include:

• Post ICU Trauma patients (serious injury to 2 or more body systems)
• Traumatic Intra-Thoracic injury, intrabdominal injury, and complex fractures
• Traumatic Musculoskeletal Wounds
• Complex Cholecystectomy and Appendectomy
• Bariatric Surgery
• Colorectal Surgery (bowel malignancies, inflammatory bowel disease)
• Thoracic Surgeries- lobectomy, Esophagostomy
• Urology- Prostatectomy
• Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery

Qualifications

• We are looking for someone who has completed an established program in Nursing.
• At least (2) two years in the field.
• Registered Nurse License.
• You must have Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of being hired.
