Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Nurse Extern to support patient care under RN supervision in the FLO - MedSurg 4th Floor unit. This PRN, hourly role offers opportunities to gain clinical experience while contributing to daily patient care and workflow.

The Nurse Extern will perform routine duties within training limits and may be cross-trained as a Unit Secretary depending on unit needs, under supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

• Completion of first semester of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Has 12 months to pass NCLEX after graduating.

Responsibilities

• Nurse Extern performs routine duties within the limits of training and certification under RN supervision.
• May be cross-trained to operate as a Unit Secretary depending on unit demands and needs.
• Assists in care of hospitalized patients as part of the care team.
