Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Progressive Care RN for Orthopedics, Neurology, and Spine in Alexandria, LA. This full-time night shift (7p-7a) with weekend rotation emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration, and involvement in nursing initiatives.

The RN will provide pre- and post-operative care in the Progressive Care unit, advocate for patients, and support exceptional patient experiences within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• RN licensure (RN) is required.
• Nursing diploma, BSN, or ASN/ADN degree required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift and report changes.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient response.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in cardiac and medical-surgical care.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.

• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.

• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.

• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.

• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 30 days of employment start date

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Registered Nurse Diploma, or Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree
