Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Organ Procurement Coordinator to provide clinical management of organ donor patients across all ages, honor donor wishes, and apply advanced critical care to optimize organ function.

You will collaborate with transplant centers and healthcare partners to ensure timely organ recovery and placement, educate and support families, participate in quality improvement, and contribute to UW Health’s mission to save lives through organ donation.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of school of nursing – Required.
  • 6 months of clinical experience with surgical, critical care, emergency services or O.R. expertise – Required
  • Critical care experience with donor patients and families – Preferred
  • Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin or compact license – Upon Hire Required
  • ACLS – Upon Hire Required
  • Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) – Preferred

100% FTE. You will work three 12-hour night shifts, 7pm-7:30am. Additionally, you will work 4 hours each week for project/education time. Every third weekend rotation, 12-hr shifts 7pm-7:30am, on Friday and Saturday. Holiday rotation. No on‑call requirement. You will be working at 448 Science Dr, Madison, WI.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of school of nursing – Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing – Preferred
Work Experience
  • 6 months of clinical experience with surgical, critical care, emergency services or O.R. expertise – Required
  • Critical care experience in pediatric, neurosurgery ICU, trauma or medical ICU, with leadership as charge nurse, or resource nurse and experience with caring for donor patients and families – Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Wisconsin or may practice under a compact license per state regulations – Upon Hire Required
  • BLS certification – Upon Hire Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Upon Hire Required
  • Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) – Preferred
