Job summary

UCLA Health in Santa Monica is seeking a Clinical Nurse (RN) to deliver patient-centered care for a designated patient group, using the nursing process to meet ANA standards.

The role requires a CA RN license, a BSN or MSN, and 2 years of OR experience with BLS certification. Preference for orthopedic surgery exposure, including total joint arthroplasty, and strong collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• Current valid California RN license, required.

• 2 years of operating room experience as an RN, required.
• Experience circulating and scrub nursing.
• BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, required.
• Orthopedic surgery experience, total joint arthroplasty preferred.
• Ability to develop and implement patient care plans with active involvement of patient and family.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The clinical nurse is a professional Registered Nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients using the nursing process in accordance with the standards of professional nursing practice. The clinical nurse performs in the professional role as described by the American Nurses Association (ANA); engaging in activities related to ethics, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality improvement, leadership, collaboration, professional practice evaluation, resources utilization, environmental health, and patient advocacy as appropriate to clinical nursing practice.

We’re seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated nursing professional with:

• Current valid California RN license, required
• BSN or MSN, required
• 2 years of operating room experience as an RN, required
• experience circulating and scrubing
• BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, required
• Experience in orthopedic surgery, specifically total joint arthroplasty, preferred
• Skill in implementing appropriate nursing interventions on a consistent basis
• Ability to perform historical, physical and behavioral patient assessments
• Ability to develop and implement and evaluate patient care plan actively involving patients, family, and staff
• Official Transcripts and/or original diploma from a registered nursing program must be provided upon hire
