Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare is seeking a Circulating Staff Nurse (RN) for OR perioperative duties in Los Angeles, CA. This per diem/per shift position requires a California RN license, with preference for a BSN and CNOR, and prior surgical experience.

The role emphasizes organizing and coordinating patient care, functioning within the Watson Model of Care, and meeting the needs of diverse patient populations. Bilingual Spanish is a plus; ACLS/BLS certifications are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing preferred.
• 1 year of surgical services nursing experience or 2 years as a surgical tech in acute care, with 1 year nursing in acute care, or completed periop training with 2 years acute care experience.
• CNOR preferred

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in the OR as Circulating Staff Nurse.
• Coordinate, plan and direct patient care for a defined group of patients.
• Provide family-centered care based on Watson Model of Care.
• Maintain shift accountability and collaborate with Clinical Unit Supervisor.

Job Description The Circulating Staff Nurse is a skilled and experienced professional Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for excellence in the clinical practice of nursing and the management of patient care. Reporting to the Clinical Unit Supervisor of Perioperative Nursing, the Circulating Staff Nurse has shift accountability for organizing, planning, directing, coordinating, and providing high quality, individualized patient/family centered care based on the Watson Model of Care for a defined group of patients, including the identification and demonstration of abilities to meet special needs and considerations of Age and Population Specific awareness.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing preferred.

Qualifications/Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in Surgical Services nursing or two (2) years of surgical tech in acute care setting with at least one (1) year of nursing experience in acute care setting or completion of periop training program (AORN or similar) with 2 years acute care experience. Internal candidates that have completed the MLKCH Nurse Residency Program, Transition program, or cross-trained will be considered.Current California Nursing licenseCNOR preferred
