Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY: Each RN/LPN enhances the living experience for Tabitha’s Seniors/clients by performing various prescribed medical treatments and personal care services under the direction of the physician, supporting the medical plan of care and meeting the written comprehensive care plan objectives, while functioning within the appropriate scope of practice. This TEAMember contributes to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of elders/clients through respectful, professional, competent, and personable interaction. The TEAMember strives to uphold Tabitha’s LIVE2Care Culture and actively embraces Tabitha’s Core Values, supporting goals related to dignity, respect, independence, competence, autonomy, personal comfort, safety, and security of elders/clients. Additionally, the TEAMember collaborates with family members, coworkers, management, volunteers, and others in the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Follows through on physician’s orders in accordance with Tabitha’s policies and procedures.
  • Prepares, administers, and/or supervises administration of medication, treatments, and other nursing services as ordered by the physician.
  • Assesses Seniors/clients regarding physical, mental, and psychosocial status, reporting condition changes in a timely manner.
  • Diligently observes Senior/client skin to avoid pressure ulcers.
  • Completes procedures and documents the appropriate information on the Senior’s/client’s medical record in a timely manner.
  • Provides direction and monitors Med Aides delivering medications to Seniors/clients.
  • Provides supervision and education to Seniors/clients for self-administration of medications.

Qualifications

COMMUNICATION: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language including medical terminology. Sufficient fluency to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, provide instruction to others, and interact successfully with elders/clients/caregivers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to safely perform the duties of the job while utilizing standard and specialized equipment. Physical stamina to perform duties while moving about the work area for the entire shift. Strength and agility to frequently lift, push, pull, and manipulate various supplies and equipment.

AGE REQUIREMENT: At least age 18.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse course of study. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 6 months experience as an RN or LPN preferred.

CREDENTIALS: RN or LPN License in good standing as recorded on the Nebraska State Registry or other Nurse Compact state required. CPR required. License and CPR Certification must be kept up to date at the employee's expense. Must meet Tabitha's vaccination requirements.
