Job summary

New Solutions is seeking an RN OR Circulator to support the OR team with comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients at our facility in Texas. The role requires collaboration with physicians and the healthcare team, applying nursing processes, and delivering patient-centered care from pre-op to post-anesthesia recovery.

The candidate will have an ADN or BSN, current RN license, and ideally one year of OR circulating experience, with BLS due within 30 days; CNOR is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program with ADN and/or BSN.
• One year of recent OR Circulating experience.
• Current RN license; BLS within 30 days; CNOR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process with the physician and healthcare team for patients preparing for or having surgical procedures.
• Provide care appropriate to patient populations across life cycles.
• Ongoing data collection to establish nursing diagnoses and predict outcomes.
• Coordinate and plan delivery of care with a multidisciplinary team and plan of care.
• Deliver patient care and administer interventions as identified in the Plan of Care.
• Educate patients and families and communicate progress with the care team.

RN OR Circulator

Position Responsibilities:

• The OR Circulator RN uses the nursing process, collaborates with the physician and healthcare team in the delivery of care to patients who are preparing for, have had a surgical or other invasive procedure.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient populations served, as well as the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles.
• Assessment: Conducts an ongoing and systematic collection of data, guided by the application of knowledge of physiological and psychological principles and experience, and uses the data to establish a nursing diagnosis and predict outcomes.
• Nursing Diagnosis and Outcome Identification: Coordinates and analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnoses and establishes patient goals based on nursing diagnosis.
• Coordinates and plans delivery of nursing care with a multidisciplinary team and administers appropriate clinical decisions in the delivery of patient care. Collaborates with the entire healthcare team to develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
• Delivers appropriate care to patients, at a competent level, according to the needs of the patient and population served. Implements the interventions identified in the Plan of Care.
• Evaluates the patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes. Effectively communicates with physicians and other team members.
• Provides patient/family teaching based on the needs of each patient and plans ways to meet those needs.
• Administers and reconciles medications appropriately.
• Adheres to infection prevention protocols.
• Demonstrates an understanding of patient rights, including those pertaining to confidentiality, informed consent and privacy.
• Demonstrates adaptability, problem solving and professional behavior at all times.
• Participates in a systemic, interdisciplinary, and ongoing evaluation of programs, process improvement, and desired client-centered outcomes.

Requirements:

• Graduate of a school of nursing with an Associates and Bachelors.
• One year of recent OR Circulating experience required.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment. CNOR certification preferred.
