Job summary

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program.
  • Registered Nurse licensed by the state of Minnesota.
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS certification.
  • PALS within one year of start date.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and immediate post-operative assessment, planning, and evaluation of surgical patients.
  • Prepare the operating room, ensuring equipment, instruments, and sterile field meet standards and patient-specific needs.
  • Circulate and/or scrub for diverse surgical procedures, maintaining patient safety and anticipating surgeon needs.
  • Accurately document all aspects of patient care and events in the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other care team members to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Implement nursing interventions as delegated or prescribed within the perioperative setting.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and infection control protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and immediate post-operative assessment, planning, and evaluation of surgical patients.
  • Prepare the operating room, ensuring equipment, instruments, and sterile field meet AORN standards and patient-specific needs.
  • Circulate and/or scrub for diverse surgical procedures, actively anticipating surgeon's needs and maintaining patient safety.
  • Accurately document all aspects of patient care, surgical events, and interventions in the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other care team members to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Implement nursing interventions delegated, ordered, or prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider within the perioperative setting.
  • Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique, infection control protocols, and patient safety initiatives (e.g., time-out).
Job Requirements
Required
  • Graduate of accredited professional nursing education program
  • Registered Nurse Licensed by the state of Minnesota
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one (1) year of start date
Preferred
  • OR/PACU experience
