Origin Travel Nurses is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a 13-week contract. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality patient care in the surgical setting. The role emphasizes orthopedic and gynecological cases.

The OR operates similarly to an ASC, handling abdominal, orthopedic, gynecologic, urology and plastic surgeries. Schedule is 4x10s, Monday through Friday, 07:00–17:30, with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• 2 years of strong relevant experience required.
• Active RN license in Maryland or compact license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required; CNOR and NIHSS are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room setting.
• Assist with orthopedic and gynecologic procedures.
• Ensure a sterile environment and adherence to safety protocols.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Collaborate with surgical and medical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Description

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in the surgical setting. This position requires strong experience, particularly in orthopedic and gynecological cases. The OR operates similarly to an ASC, with a focus on general OR procedures including abdominal, orthopedic, gynecological, urology, and plastic surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room setting.
• Assist with orthopedic and gynecologic procedures.
• Ensure a sterile environment and adherence to safety protocols.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Collaborate with surgical and medical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of strong relevant experience required.
• Active RN license in Maryland or compact license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required; CNOR and NIHSS are preferred.
• Proficiency in the following skills is preferred:
  • Abdominal/Vaginal hysterectomy
  • Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
  • Laparoscopic procedures
  • Robotic surgeries
