Job summary

MemorialCare is seeking an Operations Manager, RN for the Surgery Services and Anesthesiology departments in Laguna Hills, CA. The role provides overall leadership, planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling all aspects of unit operations to meet clinical and service goals.

The Manager ensures quality patient care in compliance with regulations, manages the operational budget, supports staff development, and fosters teamwork and accountability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management or progressive leadership experience in an acute care hospital.
• Knowledge of current leadership, management, and quality improvement principles.
• Understanding of budget development.
• Experience in direct implementation of new programs and services.
• Computer/information system experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements for areas of responsibility.
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Promotes collaboration and communication with interdisciplinary departments, medical staff, and leadership.
• Maintains organized records in compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
• Hires, develops, and maintains performance and competence of staff members.
• Creates and implements goals, objectives, and policies for the Surgery Services and Anesthesiology departments that are in support and alignment with Saddleback Medical Center and MemorialCare System.
• Collaborates with the Director to manage the operational and capital budget for the unit to meet financial goals.
• Ensures cost-effective daily operations and allocation of resources including vendor management and contract compliance.
• Maintains effective staffing plans and achieves staff productivity goals.
• Maintains consistent knowledge and compliance with all regulatory requirements associated with the Surgery Services / Operating Room service line.
• Monitors the appropriate unit metrics to assure high levels of patient satisfaction and that core measures and regulatory requirements are being met.
• Serves as a leader to solve problems and implement meaningful department changes to enhance the department and service line.
