A leading healthcare provider in Paramus is seeking a dedicated nurse to deliver peri-operative care across various patient age groups. The role demands high adaptability and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes during surgical procedures. Candidates must hold a valid nursing license in New Jersey and possess critical problem-solving skills.
POSITION SUMMARY:
To fulfill the needs of patients in various age groups, their family members, and the community by performing diverse peri-operative patient care tasks during the pre-, inter-, and post-operative phases and surgical experience, in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. The nurse will respond effectively to changing work environments and bear primary responsibility and accountability for peri-operative nursing care in the operating room setting.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Current/valid State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing). CPR certifications.
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: Computer and keyboard skills, medical terminology. Minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical Nursing experience preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Current State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing). CNOR Certification preferred. Completion of General Nursing Orientation, CPR Certification, IV Certification, and Unit-Based Orientation, including the appropriate age and development of the patient population served on the unit. Demonstrates effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation). Ability to perform work accurately, paying attention to details, often switching tasks without loss of efficiency or composure. Functions competently under stressful conditions and in dynamic environments, including caring for patients with acute, chronic, and complex diseases, and those who are dying. Works cooperatively with healthcare team members, patients, and families. Utilizes effective time management to prioritize responsibilities and respond to emergencies. Applies analytical and critical thinking skills for problem-solving.
