Job description

How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:

This position is located at Carilion Giles Community Hospital (CGCH) in Pearisburg, VA. It is a full-time role working from 7am to 3pm, with on-call duties until 7pm.

As a registered nurse, you are expected to deliver the highest quality care and customer service, demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in every interaction with patients, their families, visitors, and colleagues. RNs are responsible for coordinating and providing individualized care for patients of all ages, utilizing delegation and critical thinking skills within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Completing age-specific admissions and ongoing assessments, documenting findings, and developing care plans.
2. Collaborating with the healthcare team, patients, and families to develop, implement, and evaluate interdisciplinary, age-specific care plans, revising them as patient conditions change.
3. Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to achieve optimal outcomes for patients of all ages.
4. Administering and documenting treatments and medications accurately using electronic medical records systems such as EPIC.

What We Require:

• Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program or an approved program eligible for VA licensure exam.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain it; CPR certification; and additional certifications like ACLS, PALS, NRP as needed.
• Other: Proficiency in electronic medical records (EPIC), successful completion of orientation and competency assessments, and ability to meet essential job functions.
