Frederick Health Hospital, Inc. in Frederick, MD is seeking experienced OR nurses for its Surgery Department. The part-time role supports a high-volume OR suite equipped with DaVinci robotic technology, requiring current MD RN licensure and perioperative expertise.
Responsibilities include independent patient care using the nursing process, teaching duties, and collaboration with the health care team to ensure quality and safety. CNOR preferred; schedule is 48 hrs per pay period, day shift.
The Frederick Health Surgery Department operates 10 operating rooms, 2 obstetric rooms, and 2 endoscopy rooms at the hospital. Last fiscal year, our high-volume operating room completed nearly 9,000 cases. We support a broad range of specialties, including orthopedics, spine, general surgery, bariatrics, urology, gynecology, otolaryngology, podiatry, endoscopy, and vascular procedures. Our department is equipped with the region’s most advanced DaVinci robotic technology, supporting greater surgeon autonomy, improved tissue control, and increased operating room efficiency.
Our surgical service is a Center of Excellence for Bariatrics and has earned the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) Go Clear Gold Award for successfully eliminating hazardous surgical smoke from our operating rooms.

Job Summary
Supports, and is responsible for incorporating into job performance, the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy and adheres to the FH Compliance Program, including following all regulatory requirements and the FH Standards of Behavior.
Independently provides patient care using the nursing process and performs leadership and teaching duties necessary that supports effective patient care. Supports and participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Functions within the limits of the State and Federal licensing, regulatory bodies and hospital policies.

The following certifications are required for the nursing units specified. Each certification must be completed within 1 year of hire.
§ 2C (Oncology/Thorasic) – Chemotherapy
§ L&D, OB/OR – NRP, C-EFM w/in 3 years
Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the following age groups * This would be based on designated patient population for each nursing department.
Physical Demands:
Medium-Heavy Work – Lifting up to 100 pounds on an infrequent basis (less than one lift every three minutes) and/or carrying up to 50 pounds while walking. Pushing or pulling up to 115 pounds infrequently or greater than 115 pounds occasionally (no more than once per hour).

Contact Stress : Pressing the body hard on sharp edges can result in placing too much pressure on nerves, tendons, and blood vessels. For example, using the palm of your hand to hit or stick objects can increase risk of musculoskeletal disorders

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. If position is part-time, salary will be pro-rated based on scheduled hours. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid, if applicable.
Pay range: $41.20 - $55.17/hr
