• Current Illinois Nursing license is required.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Sign-on bonus: $5,000 for prior OR experience
• Position: RN - Operating Room
• Location: Chicago, IL
• Full Time
• Hours: M-F 7am-3:30 pm; plus call requirement
• Required Travel: None

What you will do:

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Maintain competency reflecting current standards of practice.
• Contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
• Incorporate ethical provisions in all nursing activities.
• Apply evidence-based practices and research findings.
• Recognize and adapt to varying situations.
• Promote safety to prevent injuries to patients and staff.
• Supervise staff in patient care provision.
• Engage in professional growth and development.
• Ensure a safe working environment and respond appropriately in emergencies.
• Complete documentation thoroughly and promptly.
• Assist in patient positioning and safety.
• Handle specimens accurately.
• Enforce aseptic standards.
• Monitor surgical equipment functionality.
• Document intraoperative procedures in Epic.
• Conduct surgical counts appropriately.
• Select and pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.

What you will need:

• Two or more years of nursing experience preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
• Mastery of nursing skills.
• Effective communication and supervisory abilities.
• Current Illinois Nursing license.
• American Heart Association CPR Certification.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required within six months, depending on unit needs.
