Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Christiansburg seeks an experienced RN for the Operating Room at the CNRVMC facility. You will provide professional nursing care across age groups, collaborate with the care team, and document care in the EMR.

The role requires a Virginia RN license (or eligibility), BLS-HCP, and the ability to work day/evening shifts in a fast-paced surgical setting. Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing education opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
• Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
• AHA BLS-HCP required.
• ACLs/PALS/NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
• Keyboarding skills and computer literacy including EMR usage required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care across all age groups, supporting patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality patient outcomes.
• Provide individualized patient care and coordinate care delivery for patients of all ages.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Complete and document age-specific assessments to support care plans.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
• Administer treatments and medications accurately and document care in EMR.
• Identify and address patient and family education needs.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Advocate for patients and support their rights and psychosocial needs.

What We Require

• Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
• Experience: None.
• Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
• Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
• Other Minimum Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.
• For Behavioral Health roles, must demonstrate ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.

Compensation Range: $33.52 - $50.28 Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
