GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides professional nursing care within the perioperative setting to patients undergoing surgery or invasive procedures.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate supplies, instrumentation, and equipment for preoperative and intraoperative care, ensuring proper functioning. (25%)
  • Perform circulating functions, including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions; manage overall nursing care before, during, and after procedures. (25%)
  • Act as patient advocate; document preoperative and intraoperative care in compliance with hospital, departmental, and regulatory standards. (25%)
  • Monitor the surgical environment to ensure aseptic techniques are followed by the surgical team. (25%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance
  • Current PA RN license or multi-state license via eNLC
  • CPR certification
  • Minimum one year recent RN Operating Room experience
