Position Overview

This position has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for delivering nursing care through the use of the nursing process. The incumbent accepts accountability, applies competent clinical knowledge and skills, and uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by themselves and delegated to healthcare providers to achieve quality patient outcomes. Duties are performed within the scope of a Registered Nurse (RN) - Level I & II, as defined in the job description.

The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide relevant care to patients across the lifespan, assess and interpret patient data, and address age-specific needs. This role provides professional nursing care in an inpatient hospital setting.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
  • ADN, Diploma, BSN, or higher degree
  • Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses or equivalent state board, or multi-state licensure via the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
  • Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire
  • Experience:
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience

Physical Requirements
  • Minimize manual patient lifting; utilize equipment and aids as indicated.
  • Work requires strength, stamina, and the ability to lift/move materials over 40 lbs.
  • Normal visual and auditory acuity required.
Working Environment
  • Work hours may be irregular or extended.
  • Work around biohazards, infectious diseases, deceased bodies, water, and electrical hazards.
