Job summary

University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a day shift, on-site setting. The RN will coordinate care, triage patients, and work with clinic providers, fellows, and staff to develop and implement plans of care.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, valid RN license, and at least one year of RN experience. The department emphasizes education, evidence-based practice, and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master’s in Nursing.
  • Valid RN License.
  • Minimum of 1 year Registered Nursing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and documents assessment data from patients and others per UAMS standard.
  • Develops patient’s Plan of Care (POC) per department/unit standards utilizing assessment data.
  • Evaluates the progress of patients toward attainment of desired outcomes.
  • Administers medication following department/unit standards and Nurse Practice Act.
  • Verifies and evaluates care delivered to ensure it aligns with patient and family centered care principles, practice standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supports integration of current evidence into nursing practices.
  • Promotes an environment conducive to positive educational experience for all students and staff.
  • Provides effective patient/family education and discharge planning.
  • Interacts with nursing staff at all levels and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and leaders.
  • Communicates care appropriately through medical records documentation.
  • Reports variances in care or systems through appropriate channels.
  • Participates in recruitment/retention of staff.
  • Facilitates development and implementation of evidence-based nursing practice standards.

Summary of Job Duties:

The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care. This professional nursing role will require the ability to coordinate care for patients, triage patients, and work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff. Will analyze more complex and ongoing patient assessments and data to identify patient needs. The RN will assist individual patients, their families, and providers in developing the plan of care to meet patients’, their families’, and practitioners’ needs by prioritizing multiple nursing diagnoses and collaborative medical problems in to the POC.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master’s in Nursing;
