Job summary

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, seeks an experienced RN to answer patient inquiries by phone, assess symptom severity, and guide callers to the appropriate level of care. You will schedule appointments and document information in health records to support follow-up care.

Ideal candidates will have graduating from an accredited nursing program, an active RN license, and strong communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program and hold an RN license.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Nurses must be licensed in the states where patients reside and obtain required competencies.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient inquiries by phone and assess the severity of symptoms using triage algorithms.
• Guide patients to appropriate level of care and schedule appointments with providers/facilities.
• Document triage information in health records and maintain patient health data for follow-up care.
• Maintain and update triage protocols and educate patients during calls.
