LCMC Health in New Orleans seeks an Oncology Nurse Navigator to guide patients through cancer care with empathy and clinical expertise. You coordinate between patients, families, physicians, and care teams, helping patients understand treatment options and access resources.
With a Louisiana nursing license and BLS, you will advocate for patients, track care plans, and support survivorship from screening to treatment.
Your job is more than a job.
When a patient hears the words “You have cancer,” their world can change in an instant. That’s where you come in.
As an Oncology Nurse Navigator, you are more than a nurse—you’re a guide, an advocate, a trusted resource, and sometimes the steady voice patients need when everything feels overwhelming. You help patients navigate the twists and turns of their cancer journey, making sure they never feel like they’re walking through it alone.
You’ll be the hub connecting the dots between patients, physicians, specialists, treatment teams, resources, and families. You’ll coordinate care, provide education, answer questions, remove barriers, and help patients understand what comes next. Most importantly, you’ll make sure they feel seen, heard, supported, and cared for every step of the way.
You bring your clinical knowledge and oncology expertise to the table, but your compassion is what truly sets you apart. You know that sometimes the most important thing you can do is listen. Sometimes it’s making a phone call, finding a resource, explaining a treatment plan one more time, or simply reminding a patient, “We’ve got you.”
You’re organized, proactive, positive, and passionate about creating exceptional patient experiences. You know how to advocate fiercely while leading with empathy. And when things get complicated, you’re the person who stays calm, finds a solution, and keeps moving forward.
This role may have a schedule, but your commitment to your patients doesn’t clock out. If this were your loved one navigating cancer, you’d want someone in their corner who cared deeply—and that’s exactly what you bring to this role.
Your nursing experience, oncology knowledge, compassion, empathy, problem‑solving skills, and that little something extra that makes patients feel safe with you all add up to something special. If you’re ready to be the person who helps patients find their way through one of the most challenging chapters of their lives, we’d love to meet you.
