Job summary

Louisiana Military Department is seeking a qualified RN to lead the Medical Department for the Youth Challenge Program. The role supervises staff, coordinates cadet medical services, maintains medications, and supports on-site medical visits, with CPR/First Aid certifications kept current.

Strong communication with parents and staff is essential. The position requires on-call availability, a valid Louisiana RN license, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain a valid Louisiana RN License and CPR/AED certification.
• Ability to communicate professionally with staff, hospital personnel and parents.
• Strong leadership to oversee staff and medical operations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• On-call duty including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with parents, outside professionals, and the public to support cadet medical services.
• Lead staff in providing first-responder medical evaluations, treatment and recommendations.
• Maintain and administer cadet prescriptions and medications; draw and label blood samples as ordered.
• Assist with on-site medical visits and onboarding paperwork for staff.
• Ensure CPR and First Aid certifications are up to date and coordinate annual mandatory training.
