Job summary

State of Louisiana, Military Department, is seeking an RN to oversee the cadet medical services for Youth Challenge Program. The role includes supervising staff, coordinating with medical leadership, and ensuring timely medical evaluations and treatments for cadets.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain a valid Louisiana Registered Nurse (RN) License and CPR/AED certification.
• Knowledge of YCP Medical guidelines and ability to communicate professionally with all YCP Staff, hospital personnel and parents.
• Leadership qualities to oversee staff and medical operations.
• Must be available for "on call" duty (evenings and weekends).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with parents, outside professionals, and the public to support cadet medical services.
• Communicate with the Director and department leads to identify and resolve cadet- and staff-related issues.
• Lead staff in providing first-responder medical evaluations, treatment, and recommendations.
• Maintain cadet prescriptions and medications; draw and label blood samples for laboratory delivery.
• Ensure CPR and First Aid certification are kept current.
