This job acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. Effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in all interactions; maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and department’s strategic goals and objectives; demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for own practice, and supports the company's philosophy of nursing.
Education
Required - Registered nurse diploma.
Preferred - Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing.
Work Experience
Required - None.
Certifications
Required - Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred - Certification in clinical specialty area.

Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (Constant activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time.) Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even if the weight lifted is negligible, a job should be rated Light Work when it requires significant walking or standing, sitting most of the time with pushing and pulling, or working at a production pace involving pushing or pulling materials.
Routine duties involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues. The work environment includes direct contact with patients and specimens that may contain communicable diseases, with potential occupational risks for exposure to hazardous medications or waste.
