Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking an RN in Occupational Health to deliver patient-first care for caregivers and staff at multiple sites. You will provide direct nursing care, support wellness, and help manage return-to-work processes while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role requires ADN/BSN, RN licensure, BLS, and at least two years of clinical experience, with preferred occupational health exposure and broader employee health skills.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) through AHA or ARC.
  • Two years of clinical experience.
  • Occupational Health RN experience (preferred).
  • Two years in employee health with training in urine collection, breath alcohol testing, audiology, spirometry and venipuncture.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide direct clinical care to employees.
  • Collaborate with providers on return-to-work and workers' compensation.
  • Promote wellness and prevent illness cost-effectively.
  • Perform screenings and procedures (vision screens, venipuncture, TB testing, vaccinations, urine collection, BAL testing, audiometry, spirometry, fit testing, health assessments, blood borne pathogen counseling).
  • Coordinate and track regulatory-compliance programs for employee health and safety.
  • Assist clinical manager with scheduling, staffing and delegation of duties.

Join the Cleveland Clinic at Work team where you will work alongside passionate caregivers and provide patient-first healthcare. Cleveland Clinic at Work is a service that Cleveland Clinic provides to other organizations to support their occupational health needs at other companies.

As an RN in Occupational Health, you will provide services to fellow caregivers and staff, helping them feel supported in all areas of wellness. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing direct nursing care, implementing and monitoring patient care plans, assessing and coordinating patients' discharge plans and monitoring, recording and communicating patients' conditions. You will ensure employee compliance with Joint Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) and other regulatory agencies to facilitate efficient, effective services and care. In this role you will be representing Cleveland Clinic so your commitment to quality is critical.

A caregiver in this position works part-time rotating variable shifts between the hours of 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. You must be able to float between locations located in North Canton, Millersburg, Dundee and Fredericksburg Ohio.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Coordinate and provide direct clinical care to employees.
  • Work closely with providers in relation to return to work and workers compensation.
  • Focus on cost-effective ways to maximize wellness and prevent illness, disease and disability.
  • Perform clinical and/or coordinate activities, such as vision screens, venipuncture, TB testing, vaccinations, COC urine collection, breath alcohol testing, audiometry, spirometry, respiratory fit testing, health assessments and blood borne pathogen counseling.
  • Coordinate and track compliance programs to meet standards of regulatory agencies for the health and safety of employees.
  • Support clinical manager in the oversight of clinical operations, scheduling, staffing and delegation of duties.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) through the American Heart Association OR the American Red Cross
  • Two years of clinical experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Occupational Health RN experience
  • Two years of employee health experience with training in COC urine specimen collection, breath alcohol testing, audiology, spirometry and venipuncture skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
  • Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
  • Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
