Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide obstetric inpatient nursing care. Rotating day/evening/night shifts include weekends/holidays, PRN as needed, non-remote position in Sioux Falls, SD.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering nursing care, coordinating with physicians and the care team, and educating patients and families about conditions and self-care. Active SD RN license required, with 2+ years in obstetric inpatient care.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Active RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years obstetric inpatient (Labor and Delivery/Fetal Heart Monitoring) experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivers nursing care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the care plan to the health care team.
• Develops nursing care plans by obtaining histories, examining patients, and documenting status; coordinating with family and other care providers.
• Educates patients and families on condition, medications, and self-care skills.
• Evaluates patient care by adhering to standards, reviewing records, and adjusting care plans as needed.
• Maintains safe care environment through infection control, medication storage, and supply management.
