Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department Observation Unit in New Albany, IN. The unit handles patients expected to be in hospital for less than 24 hours, with a 29-bed capacity.

This role is full-time (36 hours weekly) on day shifts (7am-7pm), benefit eligible, with sign-on bonus eligibility for experienced external applicants. Ideal candidates are licensed in Indiana (or a compact state) and prepared to obtain ACLS within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
• BLS for healthcare provider required.
• ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 12 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct comprehensive nursing care for patients from admission to discharge.
• Work as an on-shift team member delivering direct patient care to meet patients', families', and co-workers' needs.

Job Duties:

In this role, the RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge. The Registered Nurse will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.

About the Unit:

The Observation Unit is a 29-bed unit affiliated with the Emergency Department and observes patients who are expected to be in the hospital less than 24 hours. Nurses in this unit care for a variety of patients including chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. The unit is staffed with a provider between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM each day of the week to provide support and high-level care.New Graduate RNs welcome.

Qualifications:

Current Indiana or compact state RN license required.

BLS for healthcare provider required.

ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
