Job summary

TriStar Horizon Medical Center is seeking a qualified RN for the Observation Unit in Dickson, TN. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within the Observation unit guidelines and state standards.

You will collaborate with physicians and the care team to assess patients, administer medications, document care, and educate patients and families about their conditions and plans. An RN with an Associate Degree and 1 year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient’s condition at admission and during each shift, reporting changes.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses with documentation.
• Perform procedures and ensure timely documentation in the medical record.
• Provide prompt, compassionate patient care and address requests.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up needs.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Observation Registered Nurse, you willbe responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as ‘Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.‘ You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization‘s vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess the patient‘s condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptlyidentifyingand reporting any changes in patient status.

• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), andensure thorough andtimelydocumentation of care administration in the patient‘s medical record. - Administer prescribed medications,monitorthe patient for therapeutic response, and takeappropriate actionin the event ofan unintended response to the medication.

• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactivelyanticipatingpatient needs, and resolving them.

• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient‘s medical condition, treatment plan, medications,possible sideeffects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
