Job summary

Kindred Hospital Houston Medical Center and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) seeks a Nursing Supervisor to oversee nursing staff, assess patient needs, and deliver direct care in a high-acuity LTACH/ARU setting.

You will plan training, develop nursing protocols, maintain patient records, and coordinate services to ensure quality care around the clock. The role requires an active RN license and BLS certification, plus 2 years in a hospital and 1–2 years of supervisory leadership, with no travel.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid state Registered Nurse license.
• Valid BLS certification.
• Two years of nursing experience in a hospital.
• 1–2 years supervisory/leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, supervise and evaluate designated nursing staff.
• Participate in developing nursing protocol and procedures.
• Provide continuing education and staff development opportunities for nursing staff.
• Assess patient needs; participate in providing nursing care; ensure services are carried out and documented appropriately.

Job Summary

Supervises nursing staff, assesses patients needs and provides nursing care for patients. Plans and organizes training for unit staff members and participates in guidance and educational programs.

Essential Functions

• Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates designated nursing staff; assigns duties and coordinates nursing services.
• Participates in developing nursing protocol and procedures.
• Provides continuing education and staff development opportunities for nursing staff.
• Assesses patient needs; participates in providing nursing care; ensures services are carried out and documented appropriately
• Maintains patient health care records.
• Maintains supply inventory records; orders supplies and equipment, as necessary.
