West Penn School of Nursing in Bloomfield, part of Allegheny Health Network, seeks a full-time instructor to train students for RN licensure. The role combines classroom and clinical instruction with evaluation of learners.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing required or must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Current PA RN licensure or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• 2 years experience in clinical area of direct responsibility may be required depending on specialty.
• Two years teaching experience in a school of nursing.
• Three years of hospital RN experience in addition to teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teaches classroom theory for assigned courses which include course development, outlines, syllabi, bibliographies, teaching materials and examinations.
• Provides clinical instruction and supervision in the clinical area to assist the student in socialization, skill development and the correlation of classroom theory to clinical area.
• Evaluates student performance in the classroom and clinical area according to school policy.
• Contributes to the Faculty Organization and its standing committees as assigned.
• Contributes to the annual systematic evaluation activities to improve program quality and maintain accreditation.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required
