Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife in Jackson, MI is seeking an RN Unit Manager to supervise nursing staff and ensure high-quality resident care consistent with state regulations. You will coordinate clinical orientation, monitor competencies, and support the interdisciplinary team to maintain compliance across AL and SNF units.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a diploma, or ADN, or BSN.
• Licensure: Current RN license in Michigan.
• Experience: Prior long-term health care facility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee resident care and staff assignments in accordance with policy and Nurse Practice Act.
• Coordinate clinical orientation and ongoing competency training for AL and SNF teams.
• Participate in ACE meetings and collaborate with DON/ADON and Directors to identify education needs.

Overview

The RN Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing resident care and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. You will be assigning staff, monitoring their activities and providing for the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of residents in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act of Michigan. If you enjoy both providing care and overseeing a group of caregivers, this is a role in which you can thrive.

Responsibilities

• Attends and Participates in ACE
• Attends Monthly CNA and Nursing Meetings- (AL and SNF)
  • Makes recommendations and works with DON, ADON and Directors to identify areas of needed education
• Coordinates Clinical Orientation (AL and SNF)
• Annual training and skills competencies, monthly and quarterly models (AL and SNF)
• Infection Control Coordinator (AL and SNF)
• Psychotropic tracking and logging
• Medication Administrative Audits
• Back up for SNF Clinical Team members as needed (such as destruction of Narcs, Monitoring of Skin, Falls, Admission Audits, etc.)
• Joins the On Call Clinical Leader Rotation

Qualifications

• Education : Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a diploma, or Associate Degree in Nursing, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Licensure/Certification: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan.
• Experience: Previous experience in long-term health care facility preferred.
