Job summary

Empath Health in Florida is launching an RN Nurse Resident program designed for recent graduates to become certified hospice nurses. This full-time residency combines classroom education with hands-on hospice care in a supportive team.

You will work 40 hours weekly, typically 3x12 hour shifts in the Hospice House, with structured clinical education and six months of mentorship by a Hospice Clinical Coach. A $5,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits support your Full Life Care mission.

Qualifications

• ASN or BSN degree from an accredited program.
• Current Florida RN License or multi-state compact license.
• Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Preference for hospice or ALF experience.

Responsibilities

• Weekly classroom education pertaining to the care of hospice patients & families will prepare the Nurse Resident to become a Certified Hospice Nurse after completion of the program.
• Schedule: 40 hours per week. Typically, 3x12 hour shifts in the Hospice House and 4 hours of clinical education per week.
• Six months of practical experience facilitated by a Hospice Clinical Coach/Preceptor in a hospice house setting.
• Scheduled rotations with other hospice teams as well as the Home, ALF, and Admissions service lines.
• No Medical/surgical experience necessary
• The Nurse Resident joins his or her new team in the seventh month with continued individualized orientation as needed.
