Description:The position involves managing in-basket communications and performing phone triage.This is not a patient-facing role.The focus will be on children and adolescents up to 18 years old.The RN Navigator will cover gastrointestinal and pulmonary subspecialties.Common gastrointestinal diagnoses include constipation, reflux, hyperemesis, eosinophilic esophagitis, inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn's disease, celiac disease, and blood in stool.Common pulmonary diagnoses include asthma, bronchiolitis, ventilator care, tracheostomy management, and cystic fibrosis.Responsibilities include managing medication refills and processing requests for documentation from providers.Support staff includes a manager, medical assistants, and three other RN Navigators in the same office.Preferred technology includes experience with ambulatory electronic medical records.Unit-specific equipment includes vital sign machines and laptops.There is no floating to other units required.The unit culture is collaborative with a focus on team support.Scrub color required for the position is royal blue.
