As an integral member of the Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) healthcare team, the Registered Professional Nurse (RN) upholds the YNHHS mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives to provide the highest level of patient-centered care. The RN practices within the legal and ethical framework established by relevant nursing standards and acts as a leader, collaborator, and effective communicator to ensure quality outcomes. The RN provides holistic care, respecting patient values and cultural diversity, and collaborates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. Must have current BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire.
Experience: All RNs encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical program; 9 months acute RN experience required; pediatric experience preferred.
Licensure: Current RN license in Connecticut; clinical specialty certification encouraged.
Prolonged standing, walking, and use of sight, hearing, touch. Exposure to infectious diseases and end-of-life conditions. Must be able to assist with patient handling, including lifting up to 300 pounds.
