St. Francis is NOW HIRING! Come join our Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse!

This is a FULLTIME position working 1p to 1a.

About the Role

As an RN in the ED, you will perform nursing patient care duties under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator and/or Nursing Unit Director. You will plan, provide, and evaluate total nursing care in accordance with the patient care philosophy, facilitating individualized, goal-directed nursing care through the nursing process and primary nursing principles. You will relate effectively with other shifts for continuity of care, maintain satisfactory relations with other departments and nursing units, and participate in all phases of education.

Essential Functions

• Identify existing and potential problems and seek or implement appropriate solutions.
• Perform plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. May administer medication. Document patient care given.
• Provide nursing care through planning, organizing, and facilitating the nursing function for assigned patients.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate's degree in nursing, Required
• Bachelor's degree in nursing, Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
• ACLS within 6 months of hire
• PALS within 6 months of hire
• Handle with Care Certification within 6 months
• Valid licensure in the State as a Registered Nurse (RN)

Experience

• Six (6) months of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a direct patient care setting.
