Job summary

Garden City Healthcare Center in Modesto, CA is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time AM shift. Pay range is $40.00–$45.00 per hour (DOE).

Shift: All shifts available with an additional NOC differential. The RN will supervise and provide direct nursing care during the shift in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring high quality care and safe overnight operations of the nursing department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
• Current, active California RN license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge and experience with PCC (PointClickCare).
• Continuing education and licensure in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) and/or ADON with oversight of nursing services during the NOC shift.
• Ensure nursing staff comply with facility policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, audits, and facility surveys as requested.
• Complete required documentation, reports, and incident/accident reports.
• Protect resident confidentiality and report any unauthorized access to information systems.
• Ensure adequate RN/LVN and CNA staffing levels throughout the shift.
• Supervise, support, and delegate duties to nursing staff.
• Conduct rounds to ensure quality care and compliance with nursing standards.
• Promote a calm, respectful, and resident-centered environment.
• Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration and treatments.
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and notify physicians and families as needed.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
• Review nursing documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure infection control, safety, and emergency procedures are followed.
• Assist with care planning, MDS coordination, and discharge planning.
• Monitor use and maintenance of nursing equipment and supplies.
• Report hazardous conditions, equipment issues, and safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with overall supervision and management of nursing staff during the assigned shift.
