Children's National Hospital is seeking NICU experienced RNs to join our World Class Team!

Our NICU is designated Level IV, providing the highest level of neonatal care for over 1,000 babies annually. It is one of the only Level IV NICUs in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Our commitment to excellent care is reflected in our Neonatology division's #2 national ranking by U.S. News & World Report. Our team is equipped with the latest therapies to treat NICU patients.

The NICU has medical and surgical teams capable of caring for babies requiring surgery at birth. A comprehensive team of pediatric subspecialists, nurses, social workers, respiratory therapists, and dietitians support our patients. The NICU is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment for complex conditions.

Highlights of Our Program

• Level IV NICU: Highest care level for premature and ill newborns, one of the few in the Washington, D.C., area.
• High-risk prenatal care: The Zickler Family Prenatal Pediatrics Institute specializes in high-risk pregnancies, diagnosing in utero and planning for delivery and postnatal care.
• ECMO breathing therapy: Since 1984, our program has been a leader in ECMO, acting as an artificial heart and lungs for critically ill infants, and is designated as a Center of Excellence.
• Nutrition and feeding program: Our Neonatal Nutrition Program evaluates growth and nutrition during hospital stays.
• Brain health monitoring: Neonatal Neurology and Neurocritical Care Program offers specialized neurological assessments and research.
• Child development clinic: Evaluates over 1,500 children annually, addressing developmental concerns from birth to age 4.
• Specialized lung disease program: Focuses on infants with chronic lung issues requiring long-term support, unique in the D.C. area.

Salary Range

Full-Time Salary Range: $68,806.40 - $125,174.40

Qualifications

Minimum Education: ADN required, BSN preferred.

Minimum Work Experience: 1 year RN experience required.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Nurse License in District of Columbia (prior to start)
• BLS for Providers Certification from an AHA-approved course
• NRP Certification (strongly preferred)
