Job summary

Mercy Hospital - W Memorial Rd in Oklahoma seeks a PRN registered nurse for the Neonatal ICU. You will apply the nursing process to provide direct patient care for newborns and collaborate with the NICU team to coordinate care.

You must be a graduate of an accredited RN program with an active RN license in the hiring state (or compact licensure) and BLS certification. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long shifts; Mercy offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
• Current RN license in hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification or eligible within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process and ensure patient safety.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status and response to treatments.
• Coordinate care with NICU team and other departments for seamless patient flow.
• Uphold patient rights and maintain confidentiality of information.

Overview: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications:

Education : Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program

Licensure :

Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Physical requirements/demands :

Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Certifications :

Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required
