Job Summary

Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Demonstrates Patient Centered Care principles and Service Excellence standards at all times.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill, integrating direct and indirect patient care activities related to diagnosis and co-morbidities.
  • Completes hourly rounds with purpose to strengthen nurse communication, improve safety, and anticipate patient needs (e.g., pain management, repositioning, toileting). Proactively evaluates the environment for patient safety and comfort.
  • Collaborates with the patient’s designated care partner to meet educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs.
  • Supports and informs the patient and family about hospital policies, including open medical record policy, family visitation, family presence during resuscitation and invasive procedures, and promotes a quiet environment.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Current Nevada nursing license.
  • Current BLS certificate; NRP and STABLE certifications within 6 months of hire.
  • Neonatal nursing experience preferred.
  • At least one year of full-time or three years of part-time experience in an acute care setting.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment assessments as required.
